About this time last year, whilst living in Brighton, I read Graeme Green's 'Brighton Rock' and loved it. I really like reading books set in places I know, it's that whole thing of recognising street names, imagining the walking through locations where the action is set and getting an extra feel for the book. This illustration was obviously inspired by the book but more specifically that sunny, bank holiday scene that is so important in the beginning of the book and which still happens now.
Having been to visit my girlfriend in New York 3 weeks, I now have a mountain of drawings and photographs that I'm now playing around with. Here's a mobile idea I was testing out.
